The Taxonomy of Remembrance |10.—11.01.2026 | Halle 14 – Zentrum für zeitgenössische Kunst
Finally, I will present this new soundwork, which I developed together with sound artist Florian Zeeh at the main exhibition space of the Halle 14 – Zentrum für zeitgenössische Kunst. The sound installation explores the relationship between chaos and order, stagnation and (evolutionary) movement. It consists of an algorithmic composition about the “Red Apollo,” a butterfly species that is almost extinct in Europe and shrouded in myth that it has increasingly disappeared due to excessive collecting. The composition is based on a graphic score derived from the wing drawings of a collection of black-and-white butterflies: a requiem for the loss of biodiversity; a sonic symbol of the decline of nature.

Karl-Sczuka-Research Fellowship
I am more than happy and feel deeply honored that my latest soundwork – just finished in may 2023 – was awarded with the Karl-Sczuka-Research Fellowship 2023, a new category within the Karl-Sczuka-Price 2023. The fellowship and its grant is a collaboration between the SWR (Südwestrundfunk) and the Goethe-Institut. Thank you!

New publication out!
A publication around the soundwork Soliloquy with Ape is finally out! The publication consists of a script or diagrammatic libretto of the soundwork as well as a conversation with the cultural theorist Romana Bund about the implication of taxidermy and creation fantasies in the 19th and 20th century. If you are interested in getting a copy send me an e-mail. The publication is in German and English and is published in collaboration with Scriptings/Achim Lengerer.
